Georg Nolte

Georg Nolte, born on 3rd October, 1959, is a German jurist. He studied Law at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Geneva. He earned his doctorate in 1991 from the University of Heidelberg. Between 1991 and 1999, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Lawin Heidelberg, earning his habilitation in 1998. Between 1999 and 2004 he held the Chair of public international law at the University of Göttingen. He has also served as a visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford 2003-2004. From 2000 to 2007 he has been a member of the Council of Europe´s European Commission for Democracy through Law, the so called Venice Commission.
